Does anyone have some tips/tricks for organizing a large no of links within the Windows Explorer? Lol – at this pt, all I’m doing is simply manually grouping them. Even something like the ability add a few dividers would be helpful …

For ref, I’m using Windows XP Pro.

first click on faveourites, and then from the drop down menu, choose ‘organize favourites’

a window appears and if you play a little with it, you’ll discover how to make folders. there’s a button in fact called ‘new folder’ (or something like that), and a new folder appears in the big part of the window. you can drag and drop the things listed as favourites on this new folder and you can also name it anything you like. you may add as many folders as you like.

in these folders you can put related items together…. for eg you have a lot of music download sites, so you create a folder named ‘music’ and in it you put all these urls of the music download sites!

then when you are ready arranging the things in the window, just click ‘close’. to see your organised favourites, all you have to do then is click on favourites again, and you can admire your handiwork!

its easy… dont be afraid of clicking on a few buttons here and there to explore… i’m sure there is nothing dangerous!!!

I’ve read about WMware Server and player; coLinux, etc. I need to have a system that will allow me to access the same files in both linux and windows; I currently use a dual boot system and it makes me crazy. Unfortunately, I have windows-only apps that are critical and also the need to do a lot of stuff in linux…

I prefer VirtualBox, it’s free and very quick under windows.

I added a 1 gb memory stick to my pc. When I turned back on the computer everything worked fine but I am getting a message that I must reactive windows within 3 days or it will stop working. How do I reactive windows? Why do I get all the information to do it? I bought the computer with it already installed on the computer from the store. I don’t know where to get the info for this! How can I fix it?
This pc is not hooked to the internet and won’t be used for the internet. I use it for programs that display slide shows and movies onto a projection screen on the wall……..

If you have the internet. Then you should click on the reactive thing then follow what it says. It is just a legal thing that Microsoft has. It will ask for your details put them. The information will only go to Microsoft. Legally the shop you brought the computer from should have either done this for you or not have windows on it at all.
