Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) June 11, 2012

On June 11, 2012 Apple hosted its yearly Worldwide Developers Conference. There were several announcements made, much of it thrilling but not necessarily surprising those in attendance or those watching a stream of the event. As many Apple fans anticipated, it was announced that the next MacBook Pros would have Retina displays. Users found out exactly which features were going to be available in iOS6 and OS X Mountain Lion.

Along with the Retina displays, MacBook Pros will now be sporting new hardware that isnt as visible. The new MacBooks will come with Intels Ivy Bridge processors. The MacBook Pros will also contain two USB 3.0 ports each, plus one high-speed Thunderbolt port. Apple also seems to have dropped the 17-inch option in MacBooks, which may be disappointing news for anyone who likes a bigger screen.

iOS6 brings with it many new features. Siri is making her way over to the iPad and will now be able to open apps for users. Shes also becoming more knowledgeable about a variety of topics such as sports and movie times. There will also be more Facebook integration, similar to what iOS5 did for Twitter. Users will now be able to instantly share videos and photos to his or her Facebook page. There will be an updated Maps app that uses Apples own maps. Along with live traffic information, users will be able to see directions from his or her lock screen.

The other major announcement made by Apple at WWDC concerned OS X Mountain Lion. In this new world of social media, it is incredibly important to be able to share content immediately. OS X Mountain Lion will enable users to do all of this instantly with a new share button. A new additional feature, Dictation, has been added. iMessage has also arrived on OS X Mountain Lion, meaning that users can now message anyone who is using an iOS device, plus other people on their computers. Now users will always be connected with all of their friends.

All of these new announcements are great news for Apple fans. The new additions to the MacBook line and the improvements to iOS and OS X all seem great, says Justin Maas, Social Media Account Manager at fishbat, an online marketing firm. The only thing missing from this WWDC was a major or surprising announcement, but that no longer seems to be Apples operating strategy since Steve Jobs passed away.

While there was a lack of surprise, Apple fans were surely satisfied by the announcements from the WWDC. The highly anticipated news delivered today by Apple at its yearly conference met expectations for many devoted Mac-users, who now sit back and wait for their newest MacBook.

Question by Seth A: Freezing on my computer. Black screen, world of warcraft problems as well. ?
I started this thread on the tech support forums in wow. Everything here is in the context of wow. if something isnt specific enough, ask and i will try and fill you in. please help, ive tried for a long time and im becoming quite stressed.

ill make this short. overall problem: complete freezing in log in screen (account, not character). its to the point where i have to hold down the power button. mouse still moves but cant do anything. i get to the log in screen for about ten seconds and there is goes. also it takes 22 seconds consistently to load to the log in screen from when i press “PLAY” after clicking on the short cut. this just seems long to me. we just got a new graphics card and new power supply. the requirements for wow, the power source, and the card have all been met. i have the newest drivers that are compatiable. i ran the repair.exe and it didnt help. i was able to play fine all full rez last night, but today ive tried four times and it wont work. also, not on wow, the screen will randomly go black when im on youtube or google or anything. also scrolling quickly usually makes this happen. sometimes, it will do it over and over, and other times it wont happen for a half hour. wow is the same way, it might run this time, and run fine, but the next day i cant even get in. any suggestions?

There a several reasons why your computer is freezing. First question is when was the last time you cleaned your registry. Having a corrupted registry can cause a whole host of errors and problems. Freezing up is one of them. If you have a lot of unnecessary registry keys that are hogging up your computer resources. Your computer is bound to choke. Scan your registry with a good registry cleaner. If you pull up more than 20 errors or duplication, clean your registry.

2. Depending on your RAM specs and your computer usage. This could also be a the issue. Having an insufficient amount of free space does not allow your RAM to function properly. If you are using a lot of RAM by net surfing or other activities without enough empty space your will get freezes. You don’t need to buy new RAM but you should increase your free space by removing unnecessary data and perhaps increasing your virtual memory. The below link will show you how.

3. Spyware could be the culprit, so do a scan and see if your computer is infected.

4. Another area is a hardware drivers. This could be the problem if new hardware has been added to the system. So, the drivers should still be up to date. So try the first two suggestion and see if you can get your computer to stop freezing.
Check your drivers. Hope this helps.

5. Lastly, check the dust buildup on the fan to make sure you system is cooling properly

Question by vertigoelectric: My Windows XP sometimes freezes during startup as well as shutdown! WHY!?
I understand this is a common issue. I also understand that there are a myriad of circumstances that may cause this to happen, but I have YET to solve my problem. Here’s what’s happening: When I boot my computer, AFTER the desktop itself loads, and at some RANDOM point as it is loading startup items, the taskbar will become unresponsive and soon the rest of the PC. I’ve been unable to pinpoint any particular startup item that is causing this. In addition, Windows also freezes at the “Windows is shutting down” screen, forcing me to do a hard reset.

These problems are critical because I often work on my PC remotely from. If I attempt to restart the PC remotely, there is a good chance that it willl either freeze during the shutdown process or the startup process, meaning that I’ve lost the ability to work remotely for the rest of the day until I return home to do a hard reset.

I’ve had this problem for months. I’ve reinstalled windows multiple times, tried different hard drives, carefully noted what software I’ve installed after a fresh install of Windows (and this is where it gets really annoying. I figured, if I install software one at a time, and after an install i notice it freezes, i should be able to undo the install and have no problems, but no… it will still freeze even without that software).

I’ve considered software issues, hardware issues… I’m at a loss. For the past few months I’ve just dealt with it simply by never shutting down my PC, though there are situations which force me to shut it down.

In addition to this, my Windows takes a minimum of one minute or so to start up. That doesn’t include pre-windows BIOS screens. That’s just the Windows loading screen (with the moving blue bar). There’s no reason this should happen. I have a very fast computer that isn’t very old at all. I have a feeling these issues are related, but I just can’t figure them out.

I already know ahead of time that most of the answers I get here will be things i have already heard and have already tried, but I am desperate for more input. Unfortunately, Yahoo answers does not provide me a way of responding to your answers so if you think you can help but need more info from me email me at vertigofx@gmail.com or leave your email so I can respond to you. I really appreciate any help get. Thanks!

1) Does it happen in safe mode? This will tell you if it is software or hardware.
2) Unplug any unused devices like printer, scanners, digital camera’s, mp3 players etc
3) Check for fans and heat issues

Hopefully this will give you some new things to try

www.schoolfreeware.com This tutorial will show you how to make a greeting card just like the ones found in the stores. Making your own cards with pictures and custom sayings can bring a sentimental touch that store bought cards do not have. This tutorial focuses on Mother’s Day but the concept is the same in making cards for other holidays and occasions including Father’s Day, invitations, birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, sympathy, get well, weddings, and thank you. This tutorial will use Card Stock 1/2 Fold Blank Greeting Cards that are 8 1/2 x 11 Inches I was able to get these cards from a local office supply store for under a card with envelope. You can use different size 1/2 fold cards as long as the page settings are set to the size of your card. MS Word 2003 will be used in this video tutorial to make the cards. Check with your printer’s manual on how to orientate the paper for printing.

I have used virtual pc 2007 and assume the vmware server is pretty much the same. But i see a job advertised for a IT support tech and one of the things they want is experience of VMWARE virtual servers. Now is this just for modeling/testing purposes of woud you actually be running a real server from within a virtual setup?
