Using the new tool, Calendar and Contact information managed in the web-based system are easily shared with iCal and AddressBook on the Mac. And since iCal and AddressBook already work with Palm devices, Creative Manager Pro can be ultimately shared with these Palm OS devices.

Ron Ause, Director of Marketing, said “Since iCal and AddressBook are important components in Apple’s latest Panther OS, it is imperative for any Project Management Software for the Creative Industries to be able to work with them. Mac integration is a key feature that our clients have been excited over. The sharing tool in this release takes us one step closer.”

Available now, this update comes only three months after its recent 5.90 release allowing users to import Clients & Profits data or Adman data into Creative Manager Pro database. All users automatically get the new updates at no additional charge.

When asked about the new features, Ause said “Project management in the creative industry is key to a creative firm’s success. The full feature-set of Creative Manager Pro combined with the ease of use has no match on the Mac. With the additional integration with Apple’s OS X Panther, Safari, iCal and AddressBook, we continue to win over more and more of the creative community.”

Creative Manager Pro goes beyond costing to offer full Project Management, CRM, Digital Asset Management, billing and accounting, and Extranet capabilities.

HELIOS Software GmbH, a leading developer of cross-platform networking, PDF, and image server solutions for Mac, Windows, and web clients, extends HELIOS WebShare UB+ with real time remote proofing. Scalable previews of all major image file formats and PDF files are created on-the-fly and displayed correctly color matched within the Safari web browser on any remote Mac or Windows computer.

The proofs are true color based and represent the original color or simulate a printing process according to a selectable ICC output profile. The color matched preview can be viewed on Mac and Windows clients within the Safari web browser, which supports true color images with a tagged ICC profile, and matches the image to the remote monitor. Previews can also be dragged with embedded ICC profile into Photoshop for viewing.

HELIOS WebShare UB+ also displays related meta information – colorspace, spot colors, source ICC profile, size, and resolution are shown within the proof window. In addition, a separation preview allows previewing each process and spot color plate individually.

The WebShare UB+ remote proof feature offers these advantages:

Easy proofing of ICC color matched print previews within the Safari web browser

Drag & Drop of ICC color matched proofs into local Photoshop

Easy approval procedure to add comments and change job status

Correct overprint, separation and spot color previews allow precise proofing and reduces misprints

The new remote proof capabilities improve quality assurance procedures within prepress companies, printers, and ad agencies, as well as the speed and quality of any approval procedure between service providers and customers.

For information on HELIOS UB+ and the top ten new features visit the HELIOS web site and view the QuickTime presentation. Also customers, journalists and prospects can download a preview version of the HELIOS UB+ suite.

HELIOS Software GmbH, a leading developer of multi-purpose file, print, image, and PDF server software, announced today that its HELIOS UB2 server software will introduce a new level of collaboration to Web-based remote document reviewing, proofing and approvals. New hierarchical annotations with approval status indicators and automatic e-mail notifications make Web-based collaborative reviews and approvals easy, affordable, and simple to deploy.

The new HELIOS UB2 review and annotation features are Web browser based, without the need to install any software on the remote client. This makes it perfect for remote content reviews and annotations, even on an iPad!

Using a Web browser makes it easy for remote users to review documents, and generate accurate color-matched soft and hard proofs. This is essential for time-sensitive remote collaboration, explained Helmut Tschemernjak, CEO of HELIOS Software GmbH. HELIOS UB2 makes precise remote proofing affordable from initial design reviews through final production approval.

Primary benefits Include:

Saves time on deadline. Improves communication and documentation.

Totally Web-based no Flash, plug-ins, Java, or add-ons needed. No expensive, separate standalone applications for each desktop required.

Color proofing enhancements:

The enhanced remote soft and hard proofing of HELIOS UB2 utilizes a calibrated monitor or inkjet printer at the user site to make high-quality remote proofing affordable even for designers, ad agencies, and small print service providers.

Remote monitor proofs and printed proofs now support individual per-user monitor, simulation, and proof printer ICC profiles.

A color info dialogue allows measuring individual RGB and CMYK color values in images and PDFs.
Major annotation and review features include:

Hierarchical annotation feature allows adding comments and approval status indicators to multipage PDF and Office documents, image files, and optionally XPress and InDesign XPV files.

Select a point or area in an image or document, to add related annotations.
