Komischke says: Data visualisation is an on-going trend in the industry because presenting data graphically allows for quicker understanding for those who interpret the data. Yet, from a usability angle some visualisation forms are better suited than others for specific questions and uses. Also, applying standard software ergonomic rules like colour treatments, label orientation, etc. can significantly boost the effectiveness of a visualisation.

The presentation at 9.30am in track 2 on Wednesday 6th March provides an overview of the topic and shows through many examples what you should look for when designing data visualisations.

How to Assess User Experience Errr, I dont know what do you think?

People working in software development are frequently confronted with user interface concepts, prototypes or applications and are then asked for their feedback about the user experience. Whilst everyone has a gut reaction, it can be hard to give a well-founded and constructive answer, explains Komischke. This talk provides a 360-degree view on what the different dimensions of user experience (UX) are, and what concrete things you want to look for when assessing these dimensions. Free tools are presented that help to check concepts and products for their UX quality.

The audience will be involved in a live usability test demonstration as well as a five minute Q&A period at the end of the presentation. The presentation is at 11.30am in track 3 on Thursday 7th March.

if a buy a domain, say star.com frm google apps, will i be able to create multiple email account users like admin@star.com, contact@star.com, info@star.com etc. ?

Mmmm, Chocolatey Goodness!

Do you use Nuget to control the packages that you consume in your Development Projects?  If so, a natural extension of this is to use Chocolatey (which is built on Nuget) to control the installation and update of actual applications on your machine.  Chocolatey is a Package Manager system for Windows, think apt-get on Linux.

In this session, we re-examine the basics of a unit test.  We will work through a number of examples with continuous input from attendees.  Each example will start with a test of questionnable quality, and we will work through the issues till we're happy that it's as good as we can get it.

In this talk, we will look at what Chocolatey is, how you can use it, how you can create your own packages, and make use of it to create fresh installations of your developer systems.Speaker Bio

Gary Ewan Park has been developing on the .Net Platform for almost 7 years. Starting out with VB.Net and then settling on C#, his day job sees him developing using SharePoint, Silverlight, WCF and Ontological Databases. Question by Abu: How to migrate user email accounts from Google Apps to my own website?
I have 50 users in my company. Till we are using Google Apps to share emails. Now we have our own website providing email support. How can i migrate user accounts from google apps to my own website like changing IMAP and POP3 etc.

If you’re using Google Apps, this means that you’re routing the mail exchange (MX) records of your domain to google. Find out where in your console you can configure the DNS records and change the MX record of that DNS to be your domain. (If you’re new host is using CPanel, visit the Advanced DNS Zone Editor. There should be a button to reset all settings. Click this setting AFTER you take down notes on your own domain.)

As for the Google User Accounts, this is NOT likely to happen. You will have to recreate ALL 50 accounts. None of the email can be saved since they are essentially all using their own GMail accounts. Even as administrator, you can’t go into someone else’s email account without changing their password.
