US Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius along with Congresswoman Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15) toured The Ohio State University Medical Center on Friday and talked health care reform. Sebelius was at the hospital to see the technology and how it is improving patient care, focusing on electronic medical records. That is something President Barack Obama touted all through his campaign to save billions of dollars in health care, 10TV’s Andy Hirsch reported. The conversation turned to health care reform and Sebelius said this is the closest the country has been to health reform in 70 years. The secretary said she feels there is enough common ground to bring people on all sides of the debate together. “There is nothing more personal or important to most citizens than their own health care,” Sebelius said. “It’s something that affects every American, their family members, their loved ones, so there is I think a concern about what is being proposed in Congress and what the outcome is going to be and how it’s going to impact me and my family.” She did not question that concern and said she understands that it means a lot to a lot of people. She feels lawmakers can come to a decision in the next few months to try to get something passed, Hirsch reported. “Most people agree that the status quo is not acceptable,” Sebelius said. “There’s a huge cost of doing nothing.” Sebelius said there is enough common ground to move past politics and bring all sides of the issue …
