Question by BC Bound37: Radeon 6950: “Graphics” and “Gaming graphics” Performance score suddenly dropping from 7.8 to 6.4?
Running Windows 7. “Performance” in the control panel stated my scores were out of date, as it detected new hardware. I ran the test and while all other scores (memory, CPU speed, etc) remained the same, my graphics and gaming graphics performance score dropped substantially. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Clarification by “Performance score”, I actually meant Windows Experience Rating
Note: I am using CURRENT AMD drivers.

Update your drivers for the 6950 (see link below – assuming you’re using the 64 bit platform). I also assume you’re talking about the WIE or Windows Index Experience score….. this scoring system is not a very useful tool, although you should get your score back after the driver update.
If you’re like me and you need to have a score that reflects how good your system is (Microsoft built in ratings that were for future use, e.g. SSD hard drives etc.) you can easily manipulate it by going to C:/windows/Performance/WinSAT/DataStore/ Formal.Assessment and right click on that file to enable editing and than open it with Word Pad and change the scores manually.
I have 3 Raptors and was only getting a score of 5.9, so I changed it so it wouldn’t bother me any more. Everything else on my computer was a 7.9, but since it takes the lowest score, my final formal assessment was only 5.9, but not any more.
