How can I protect my computer from the new worm blaster that is coming out shortly?

Make certain that your anti-virus program is up to date. If you don’t have one, download Avast free of charge. It already has a “fix” for the expected problem.
I understand that you can download a “patch” from Microsoft. Go to the website.

Question by Zinger: How can I protect my internet privacy? I want to be able to hide and browse and have complete online privacy?
I do NOT want to delete files. I spend a lot of time browsing and surfing that I want to keep those files. I have heard of file encryption and stuff like that, but is that what I should be doing? I want to hide my files on my harddrive and have them secured somewhere.

Question by Warren B: Are there better ways to protect my Internet Privacy?
Don’t really feel that secure with Vista since it seems to always go back to Microsoft for everything & virus updates are hard to get.

New York (PRWEB) December 28, 2005

After increasing media reports about the Apple iPod nano’s susceptibility to scratches, LASERline introduced an iPod nano accessory that repels dust and scratches. LASERline’s Silicone Skins are made of light-weight, high-grade, waterproof silicone elastomer that won’t break, snap, tear, pill or split like rubber.

The LASERline silicone skins are translucent membranes that fit snugly around the Apple iPod nano. The shock-absorbing material protects against accidental bumps as well

as annoying fingerprints and scratches. The skins have an anti-static feature which repels the dust that can scratch and harm an iPod. Because the skins are waterproof, rain, snow or sweat are not problems, so users can take their music with them wherever they go in complete comfort and style.

“This is a stylish and affordable way to protect your investment,” says Jack Graham, vice president of sales for LASERline. “And we have Silicone Skins to fit all iPod models not just the nano.”

Apple iPod nanos are so portable they can be slipped into a shirt pocket or the small coin pocket of a user’s jeans — but left unprotected, they are subject to annoying scratches that can distort the screen and impact their sleek look. The LASERline Silicone Skins are the perfect iPod nano accessory.

LASERline Silicone skins for the Apple iPod nano are available in a variety of colors including: pale baby pink, icy blue, pearly white and not-so-basic black. Customers can also purchase the skins in convenient two-packs of white/black, pink/purple and blue/green. Five-packs of white, black, blue, green and pink are also available.

LASERline Silicone skins are available online at www.laserline.com for every size iPod. Customers can purchase the iPod nano accessory skins for $ 14.99 and come with a free neck lanyard and wrist strap.

Question by Tarnished Halo: Free programs to protect overall internet privacy. Including webpage, and p2p ip protection and such?
I am looking for a program to protect psp, and webpage privacy including ip, and all that.
Are there any free programs?
I was meaning more along the lines of stopping anyone from ever knowing what i looked at or downloaded. It’s creapy knowing people can watch.

Best answer:

Answer by Siaynoq
NO program will stop you from getting p2p infections. You basically are opening up your computer (on a specific port) to accept all incoming connections

For a good all round package I suggest ‘comodo’ a free and reasonably complete package. It is a anti-virus & firewall in one package.

Also use ‘mozilla firefox’ as your web browser.

If you must use a p2p (I do, alot) you must try to be as sure as possible that the source file is ‘as described’ (check to see if others have downloaded it! What is their view of it?)
Then scan it with your anti-virus program!

Most spyware and virus’s have been downloaded\installed because the user said “yes” to something!!! ALWAYS read the small print and KNOW what you are downloading\installing!

There is a chance it will, just make sure to keep it updated. Personally I’ve never really liked McAfee’s virus protection, but it is still better than nothing at all

Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) June 21, 2007

PrivacyView Software, LLC the developer of award-winning Internet and computer privacy software, today announced the release of its Anonymous Proxy Server, Private Proxy.

Private Proxy is a 128-bit encrypted anonymous proxy that guards against Internet search engines, Internet Service Providers and IT Departments from tracking the Internet communications associated with your computer.

Private Proxy is a secure tunnel that routes all Internet communication to a secure anonymous proxy server. This provides two benefits to the users:

•Secure communication to an anonymous proxy that eliminates an Internet Service Provider, or an IT Department, from knowing what websites are visited and what data is exchanged between your browser and the sites you visit;

•Secure browsing of websites without the sites being able to track back to your computer.

PrivacyView Software has long been known for its secure privacy software, PrivacyView. Unlike most privacy software that deletes Internet history and computer cookies, PrivacyView enables users to hide and encrypt Internet traces on their computer. With PrivacyView, users can bookmark favorite sites, download private movies and pictures, and even set a private home page for their later private surfing. PrivacyView enables users to feel comfortable browsing the Internet with the knowledge that all web traces are hidden from others who have access to their computer.

Now with Private Proxy and PrivacyView, users get the best of both worlds, an anonymous proxy that protects their IP address and Internet communication’s along with an anonymous surfing tool that enables them to keep all local browser traces and personal files safe and secure from others who have access to their computer.
