Question by : With Windows 7, “just drag it” answers previously valid are NOT functional re moving toolbar back to bottom?
I drove myself crazy looking at all those “just drag it”, “just resize it”, “just move it to the side and then back down” answers that were valid for previous Windows versions. I finally said “dummy, this is W7!!!” This is a horrific flaw in an otherwise pretty good MS product… I can’t believe microsoft still allows this stupidity. Anyway, i can’t get it back to the bottom… help!
THANKS Harley Drive… it seems so stupid of me now… also, i am using a Spanish version of Windows, so I didn’t immediately pick up on the “locked” part, because it’s presented as “bloquear”…hahaha… your solution worked and will (soon) rank as “Best Answer”!!

Is Portal free if previously purchased?

Question by musicnrd: Is Portal free if previously purchased?
Not all too long ago, when Steam was celebrating Steam for Mac OS X , Valve’s Portal was free, and I downloaded it on my Windows PC. Steam sells games “cross-platform”, meaning once you buy them for Windows, they are free to download for Mac OS X (if/when available). I logged into Steam on my new MacBook Pro, and Portal was listed as a free download (the game itself is no longer free; the promo is over).

My question is this: is this free download the Windows version I previously had, or does Steam see that I’m running on a Mac, and download the OS X version (even after the promo’s end)?

Thanks,
Nic

As you point out, what you bought was the game, not any particular version of it.

Steam knows you’re running on a Mac because it’s the Mac version of Steam. It will download whichever version is appropriate for the platform it’s running on.
