Question by guneap66: Fresh install Windows 7 “plugged in, not charging” battery issue?
I’m a little confused… It seems like other people are having this issue as there are several forums online, but I am having a hard time finding the right solution. I had vista on a Dell 1525, and upgraded to 7 Professional. Ever since I upgraded, the AC adapter would power the laptop but not charge the battery. I didn’t realize what was happening at first, and, thinking that it was my 9 month old hardware, I replaced the battery and power adapter. I am still getting the same message. The battery has a charge, but will not charge when plugged in. I am sure that this is a Windows issue. Anyone have and luck solving it?

Try putting the 7 CD in the drive, booting to it, then select the repair option, then also do a chkdsk -f.

Question by ubrokmecoraz.: my laptop and charger: “plugged in, not charging”?
I really need some help! I have no idea what to do and the stuff I googled isn’t working!

So yesterday I had my charger plugged in, and I decided to take it out cuz I thought it had been in long enough for my laptop to finally have a full battery. But when I took it out, my computer said “8%”! And when I plugged my charger back in, I noticed it said “plugged in, not charging”. So I googled it and I tried different solutions, but they didn’t work. Plus some were too confusing to understand. Has this happened to anyone? Were you able to fix it? And how? Please help!

It only charges when my laptop is off. I know that’s sorta good, but I still really want to fix it!

I have an HP and windows vista.
Thanks!

most of the times, its the battery problem n sometimes its the charger problem. Restart your system to chk if it works. Otherwise, try pluggin in n out the charger pin into your laptop. Might work. Otherwise, the problem could be with your motherboard as well (as per my DELL technician) Otherwise, call HP Centre n share your problem. You can test ur charger with another HP / Compaq laptop as well, just in case n try their charger on yours.
And this is a very common problem (sply in DELL).

Question by : Windows 7 “headphones and speakers not plugged in” but they are. Help!?
For some reason on my Playback devices it says my Speakers and Headphones “Not plugged in” But they are both plugged in but its not registering. Occasionally the sound does work for a minute but most of the time it just plays static or nothing at all. I tried system restore that did nothing tried uninstalling and reinstalling sound driver that did nothing and tried show disabled devices and that showed nothing that I could/couldnt enable. Im running on windows 7 ultimate 64bit

Are your speakers turned on? If so, then it’s most likely to be a problem with the audio connector.
