hi
nero software belongs to the installed hardware and not just software.
Try finding the right software or get update patch for vista from nero site.

Apparently you did a Win Update and did not reboot. Just reboot. Maybe you’ll have to twice, I don’t know. Then let Nero complete installing.

Question by BikeDude07: How can I fix problems with installing Nero 8?
I keep getting this message when I try to install:

“A system reboot was requested by a previous software installation (e.g. a Windows update). Please reboot your computer to resume the installation of Nero 8.”

I tried to uninstall Nero 7, run the Clean Tool, and install Nero 8 but this does not work.

I have tried deleting the values in the registry through “regedit”: find Key / HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControl… Manager / Value: “PendingFileRenameOperations” as recommended by Eric T but this is not working either.

I don’t understand what is not working, does anyone have any other suggestions or am I overlooking something that would block installation?

Any help and info is very much appreciated! :)
p.s. I forgot to mention I have Windows XP Pro if that helps.
I was trying to avoid writing to Nero for help since their site is not very helpful.

I have tried rebooting but the problem does not go away.

I downloaded the Tune-Up 2007 program (it works great to clean up the registry!) but this did not fix my problem.

Anyone have any other suggestions?
