Flixoft, the developers of the high-ranking Grocery Gadget® shopping list application for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch announce the release of a new application version: Grocery Gadget Shopping List is now available for Android mobile devices, and is available for download in the Android Market.

Android users expect the same suite of features that have made Grocery Gadget so popular in the iTunes App Store. Grocery Gadget features designed to help serious shoppers save time and money at home and at the grocery store include:

Shopping List Sync: Grocery Gadget’s sync technology allows users to share lists across unlimited iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Android devices, and an online portal account located at GroceryGadgets.com. Any time a user updates their list, all list changes update across all Apple and Android devices within a group within a matter of seconds.
Free Shopping List Portal: Shoppers can log into Grocery Gadget’s free online portal (GroceryGadgets.com) to quickly create grocery lists, match items to coupons, manage recipes, and import data from other sources. Create a “group” account to automatically sync lists between the portal account and unlimited mobile devices.
Grocery eCoupons: On their device or in the online portal, shoppers can search for relevant eCoupon offers and add them to their supermarket club cards with a single click. Currently, there are 28 participating grocery chains, including Safeway and Kroger.
Unlimited, Editable Grocery Lists: Grocery Gadget offers unlimited, editable shopping lists. With the “quantities” feature, shoppers can set an item quantity to “0” when it is not necessary to buy, and update the quantity to add an item to a shopping list. Shoppers never have to build a list over and over again.
Free Cloud Backup: Shoppers can backup all their data in the cloud instantly and for free by creating a free group account. With a group account, shoppers never have to worry about loosing their list data.
Photos: Users can take photos to accurately describe an item. All photos automatically sync across all household devices so the family shopper never buys the wrong item.
Price Comparisons: Grocery Gadget identifies and compares item prices that a shopper inputs from one store list to the next. Best store prices appear in green, and the more expensive price appears in red.
Import Recipe Ingredients: Users can access the recipe tab within the online portal to import ingredients into their shopping list. The portal can also be used to import ingredients from popular recipe software such as BigOven and HandyCookBook.
Import Data from other apps: Shoppers can utilize the portal to import data from other applications including: CSV, GroceryIQ, Shopper, and Groceries. Additional integrations are currently under development.
Until now, Grocery Gadget has only been available for Apple devices. ZipList Releases New Android App for Grocery Shoppers

ZipList Grocery List

Sterling, VA (PRWEB) November 4, 2010

ZipList, an online shopping list and recipe search service, today introduced a free Android app to enable users to create and share grocery lists, as well as search recipes, while on-the-go. This new Android app further extends ZipList’s mobile capabilities following the release of a free app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users in April.

ZipList launched in February to enable users to share their grocery lists, automatically categorize items, sort lists by aisle or store, and update lists on the web or by text message, email or instant message. Users can also search more than 500,000 recipes and add ingredients for each one to their online shopping list with one click. They can also save all their recipes from across the web in one universal recipe box.

Shopping list apps are among the most popular lifestyle and productivity apps in the Android Market. Users can learn more about the free ZipList service at http://www.ziplist.com/android then click through to the Android Market to download the new Android app. Android users can also scan the QR code there to go directly to the free app in the Android Market.

“A shopping list app is one of the easiest ways to manage your grocery shopping, saving time in-store and reducing impulse purchases,” said Geoff Allen, Founder and CEO, ZipList, Inc. “The ZipList app enables users to sync and share lists that are created both on the web and on other mobile devices. Users can also search for recipes from a variety of sources and add ingredients to the list with one click, helping to streamline the overall grocery shopping experience.”

Key features of the new Android app from ZipList include:

Create and Update Shopping Lists: Build and share lists with family members to let them view, add or delete items using the web, iPhone, text messages, email, instant messages or other mobile phones. ZipList automatically categorizes items added to the list, including many abbreviations and misspellings. Users can prioritize items and sort lists by importance.

Web Sync: Sync shopping lists in real-time between the new Android app, the web, mobile web browsers on Blackberry, iPhone, Palm and Microsoft phones, and ZipList apps running on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

Add Items by Scanning a Product Barcode: With the new Android app, users can scan product barcodes using the camera built into their smartphone to add specific branded items, including store brand items, to their shopping lists. Android users without a camera can also key in product barcodes by number.

Support for Multiple Lists and Multiple Stores: Users can create and save multiple shopping lists, as well as build and save aisle-by-aisle lists for specific stores in their area. Users can also filter shopping lists by grocery store, as well as search for and map local stores.

Android Shortcuts: Users can update their shopping lists right from the home screen of their phone by using ZipList’s Android Shortcuts. This way, ZipList is at a user’s fingertips whether in the grocery store or planning the trip at home.

Robust Product Database: ZipList has more than 275,000 individual products in its grocery database, making it easy to add branded items to a grocery list on-the-go without having to type in the full product name.

Smart Item Entry: In many cases, users can enter just three or four letters and the name of the desired item will pop up. If the user has entered the item before, it will appear higher up on the drop-down list.

Recipe Search: Users can search more than 500,000 recipes and add required ingredients to their grocery lists with one click, helping to quickly resolve the “What’s for dinner?” question. ZipList also recognizes staples, such as salt and olive oil, which users may not need to add to their list.

Shopping Cart: Just check off each item as you shop to move each one to the new shopping cart section of the app. When you are done shopping, simply touch the “Checkout” button and all the selected items will be removed from your shopping list.

Additionally, users are able to set priorities for specific items, as well as assign quantities, coupons, notes and other information for each grocery item, among many other features.

Check out the ZipList blog at http://blog.ziplist.com for the latest recipes, product updates, money-saving advice and grocery shopping tips. Or, follow ZipList on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/ZipList.

Minimum Requirements: Android 1.6 or above: Note: the barcode scanner is only available to Android users with an auto-focus camera. However, all users can key in product barcodes to add items to their lists.

Pricing and Availability: The new Android app from ZipList is a free download and is available exclusively through the Android Market.

Flixoft’s Grocery Gadget Shopping List Application for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) September 29, 2009

With the introduction of the iTunes App Store in the summer of 2008, grocery shopping list applications have become very popular among users. There is a vast selection of grocery list applications available on the market, ranging from very simple list applications, to more complex applications offering users a total shopping solution. With this in mind, Flixoft is pleased to receive recognition from Apple® for Grocery Gadget: their flagship grocery shopping list application for iPhone™ and iPod® touch that topped the Apple staff member favorite list in the iTunes App Store earlier this week.

Over the last six months, interest in Grocery Gadget has also grown among users. With the introduction of Grocery Gadget Lite in June 2009, users were offered a free and simplified version of Grocery Gadget so they could sample paid version application features at no cost. In addition, with the launch of Grocery Gadget’s unique syncing capability and the online portal introduced earlier this year, Grocery Gadget naturally began to carve out its own unique classification against other shopping list applications for iPhone and iPod touch: The Grocery Gadget application was no longer a simple digital shopping list application, but rather a component of an overall total shopping solution for users.

In addition to being featured as a staff favorite within the iTunes App Store, Flixoft’s Grocery Gadget shopping list application received recognition during Steve Job’s presentation at the Apple Special Event in Canada earlier this month. “We are honored to receive such exposure,” says William Anllo, senior developer at Flixoft. “We are always working to improve upon Grocery Gadget applications and solutions, so our customers have the innovative features required to simplify their overall grocery shopping experience.”

With this in mind, Flixoft continues to develop improvements for their suite of Grocery Gadget shopping solutions. Stay tuned for updated application enhancements with the Grocery Gadget 2.1 release, scheduled for October 2009. Updated version features include improved syncing capabilities, intelligent store and item coupons, units of measure, aisle creation per list and store, as well as an overall enhanced user interface. With this version release, Grocery Gadget will also be available in Italian. For more information on upcoming features, or to download Grocery Gadget, visit the iTunes App Store.
