Question by : Dell Inspiron 910 won’t connect to internet, I keep getting an error message about the firewall. Please help?
Error message from Windows firewall is: Windows Firewall Settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the windows firewall/connection sharing (ICS) service? After clicking yes it says that it cannot start the service. Will this problem with the firewall cause the problems with connecting to the internet? Please help! I’m so frustrated!

Answer by Jav
Possibly, and if you are sure there’s no other firewall installed and running already, you may try following the next steps:
Go to Start and click Run. A small window should open. There, type “cmd” without the quotes and press Enter. A console (often black) window should launch, so there type the next as exactly shown, keeping the quotes: net start “Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)”. Press Enter and wait for an answer in this console window. If it says the service was started, try to connect and use something related to the Internet, like opening a website in a browser. If the console window answer is negative, close it and try following the steps in a Microsoft article I link to below. Note that you need administrator privileges to accomplish all the explained tasks. Good luck.

The sites you are trying to go to may have been taken down, there may be server issues on that end, or the link is just broken and the webmaster for that site needs to fix it.

Internet Explorer has bugs and viruses on it. I’m not sure if they have been fixed. Try using firefox instead.

When I go to certain web sites (like this one), I get an eroor message in the bottom left of my window. It says, “Error on page.” or sometimes other variations. It says there is an error in the script on the web page, but other people don’t have the same problems. So, I have cleared my cookies and temporary files. Thanks in advance for your help. windows 7 doesn’t need any audio drivers….nor video
if your mother-board is pretty new in manufacturing…atleast 1 year old…
bcoz latest mother-boards are equipped with on-board drivers for audio & video….

Question by : Error: 0xc00000e9 while booting from windows 7 ultimate disc.?
I have a hand built pc, that i purchased from someone, and unfortunately it has windows 7 hp 32-bit.
And I downloaded a Windows 7 ultimate torrent from TPB, I did everything necessary to get it onto a DVD and made it bootable, but after i boot from it, select “Windows 7″ [EMS Enabled] and windows loads the files, i get this.

“Windows had encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive ……”

status: 0xc00000e9
info: An unexpected I/O error has occured

I have one Seagate Goflex 500GB External HDD,
But it is properly installed. I have ran diagnostics on my HDD, no issues. (im making this damned post on the pc with it right now.)
I’ve read the comments on the torrent page, and nobody else has reported this, and i’ve found no help on google.
I’m running this

MSI motherboard AM2 Platform
AMD Phentom x4 2.41GHz
Corsair 6GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
NVidia GeForce 210 (A.K.A. piece of shit)
120GB internal SATA
500GB External SATA

However i seem to be getting this BS error when booting from my install disc.
I made the disc using power iso at the lowest writing speed, (TWICE!)
Both discs get the error…

I’m also worried that if i make the setup disc for windows 8 preview, that i will have just wasted another fucking DVD to get the same error.

And I need the Win7 disc to be able to go back. The guy who sold me this comp neglected giving me a win7 cd or activation key to, my assumption, make my life harder.

Any help would be EXCELLENT!
Thank you.
And please, refrain from giving me shit about torrenting OS, or anything else.
I personally know people who have the EXACT same torrented win7 ultimate, working 100% fine on their PC’s.
One even has 3 1TB External HDD’s connected.
Why pay $ 100 for an OS? That’s ridiculous.

I have similar problem with counterstrike every time i reinstall it.
I've no idea how it could be used with a non steam based browser based game but here is the code and instructions for how to fix the error for CSS. If your any good with the technical things which it seems you are from your error log maybe you can edit it for your browser or to force it onto runescape somehow.

[fix to counter strike boot error right click on the cs shortcut on your desktop click properties add "-steam +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1" on the end of the target without the "]

Good luck,

btw I stopped playing runescape sometime ago and got back onto Dia2 but i have a few hundred k and a shield of guthix i no longer need. can drop for you if you want.

Windows 7 Error won’t boot?

Question by : Windows 7 Error won’t boot?
Ok, let me explain. I have an Acer Aspire ZG5. It was running windows xp, but i felt like it was running really slowly and it had tons of stuff i didn’t want to sort through. So I went and got windows 7, it said i needed to restart for some updates so i restarted my computer. As always, it gives me a choice of what operating system to boot from. Either “earlier version of windows” “windows 7″ or “Windows recover console” So i chose windows 7. Next it says “Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: insert installation disc blah blah blah click repair your computer. other options: if power was interuppted during startup, choose start windows normally, and it gives the options for safe mode, last good configuration, and start windows normally, so i clicked start windows normally. then it said

File: \windows\system32\DRIVERS\intelide.sys
Status: 0xc000000f
Info:Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.

The only options are press enter to continue, or esc to exit. Either one sends me back to the choices of what i want to boot (earlier version of windows, windows 7, etc) If i try the recovery console, it asks me for an admin password. My admin account (i only have one account) has no password, so I try things like just a blank space, and it says incorrect up to 3 tries and then it restarts my computer. I am soooooooo confused on how to fix this, and i do NOT have the windows 7 (i just used a product key from online kinda thing) I don’t have the old windows xp disc (relatives in arizona using it) and i can’t boot from the recovery or system discs i have. I have tried many many times to use the common Alt-F10 solution to reformat my computer using eRecovery, but nothing happens and it boots normally (doesn’t show anything like eRecovery when i press the buttons). I have tried everything I can think of, even getting an operating system on my iPhone and booting from that, but unlucky me the wifi it’s connected to says it’s connected but gives no info on the connection and thus gives no internet connection. I am BEGGING you guys, PLEASE HELP ME!!! I am a well run out of water, i have NO IDEAS. So pease, please please please help. Thank you so much ahead of time. :D :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Oh, and a cookie for the winner (best answer)!!!
Wanted to add, I have tried just pressing enter when it asks for the admin password and it still won’t work… all it says is “incorrect password” :( any ideas?

First of all you also know that you are pretty f****d :D :D !!

Ok now coming to point, try borrowing a XP or Win7 disc from someone. Or if you have another computer then download iso file for the same and burn to a disc. Then using them (or any other way) you can either try SYSTEM RESTORE to restore all the settings to a previous date or you can do complete system format and you loose all your data!!

I think its best if you try the system restore thing. Either enter through safe mode(simply press enter when it asks for admin password) or through the Repair computer wizard of windows 7. you need to restore using windows7…restoring via xp wont work.
