Question by Sierra.: Connecting a Macbook Air to TV?
So… I have a Thunderbolt to HDMi cable. If I connect it to my TV, the display comes up on it but it’s not what is shown on my monitor. However, if I scroll my mouse all the way to the right on my laptop (all the way out of the picture) I can see it on my TV, and there’s a box open that says “SAMSUNG” and gives me options for which resolution to use. It’s currently on 1080i. On my laptop, I went to System Preferences and changed the Display settings to 1440×900 because that’s the highest setting possible. How can I get the display on my Macbook Air the same as the one on my TV?

It’s currently set to “extended monitor” … You need to set the display properties to “duplicate monitors”

I have a netgear wireless router laying around not being used until I got a 360 today. apparently it’s possible to connect the wireless router directly to the 360 and it can pick up the signal from my wireless router connected to my computer. However I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s not as simple as “plug n’ play”.

I hooked in the router and tried to connect. it ran the first 2 tests and found the physical connection to the router and an ip adress, but failed at the dns check. Then it tells me to check if i can connect to the internet with a computer or something (which obviously I can). I just want a simple explanation of how to set this thing up. I’ve ended up with nothing trying to search google.

Yes you can. There is to ways you can: Wireless or Wired.

Wireless you need to buy a whole special xbox 360 certified wireless adaptor which is very pricy at round $ 150.
Or,
Wired where you get one of those blue network cables which are called CAT5 cables and just hook it straight from your router to your 360 but you will have wires

I have an Acer Aspire One A110 and its been quite a fun little project computer. I installed and extra 1Gb ram and switched the Linux OS for XP (will try and get Windows 7 on it one day) but the only thing holding it back is the poxy 8Gb slow ass SSD drive. I want to upgrade it whether its to 30GB or 250GB anything is better than 8GB plus it is in bits at the moment, that was fun but I thought while it is in bits I might as well get a HDD because I have found loads of tutorials but I am afraid of getting a 2.5 inch one because I am no good at small electronics and rewiring. I want to simply plug in the zif cable and it works.
