Question by Texas: How to stop Samsung Galaxy S2 from charging via computer?
When I plugged in my Samsung Galaxy S2 into the computer, it starts to charge. Isn’t it bad for the battery to have it charged when it is not low? Any idea how to stop it from charging? Answers will be appreciated. Thank you!! ^^

Hello mate, it will only charge if it needs to. When it is fully charged, it will automatically stop charging itself. Normally with a little beep to say it is charged. Really, it’s nothing to worry about. All Smart phones are like this.

Question by Jay-Rock: can I put a recovery cd from a Samsung computer on an Acer computer?
I purchased the Samsung laptop because the Acer HDD got a virus, and I want to put the Samsung recovery CD on the Acer. Asides from some of the Acer features not working, will there be any other major conflicts??
The Samsung has Windows 7 Premium, and the Acer Vista Premium.

Answer by jhirl
I don’t think so. First of all recovery disks usually restore you to a certain restore point on your computer. You definately wouldnt be able to do it if your samsung is say windows 7 and your disk is vista. I’m also pretty sure that when you make the disk it can read what computer your on or not. Although windows on one computer is the same on another (as long as it’s the same type of windows) each computer is different. So to answer your question I’m almost positive that it won’t work but you should ask an expert who would know more.

Question by amy.hoelscher: How do I transfer pictures from my Samsung Solstice to my Computer with the USB cord my phone came with?
I just recently got the Samsung Solstice by AT&T and my phone came with a USB cord, I have been working at this for almost a week trying to figure out how to get my picture from my phone to my computer. I had done it with old phones, but it isn’t working for this one! Please help if you know what to do!

This is the best long term solution.
Get a micro SD card. Get a micro SD card reader. Plug the card into your phone and transfer the files onto it, then plug the card into the reader, and plug the reader into the computer. You can then access the card like a flash drive.
Readers are like 5$ , card are like 15$ +.
Otherwise

Question by Becca: How do I upload my pictures I took on my Samsung Gravity to my Mac computer?
Hi guys! Well, I took tons of pictures tonight on my Samsung Gravity, and I want them on my computer, but it is so much work sending each one to my email. So, I have my phone plugged in to my computer, but it isn’t doing anything. I have a Mac. Thank you so much!

well, haven’t had a lot of luck with samsung and mac….at least when it comes to my Alias 2. you can try apple’s built in isync if your phone is on their supported list. You can also try a program called Bitpim. Have you tried only using the cable or have you tried via bluetooth? In any case, you may need a software interface. Try the ones I mentioned, but also check Samsung to see if they have an interface that will work with mac. If you use blue tooth, you have to turn on bluetooth on your mac as well as your phone, put your phone in ‘discovery mode’ and use the pref. pane for bluetooth under system preferences to find and sync up your phone to your mac. All this, assuming they will even talk to each other at all.

If all else fails, and your phone has a slot for a mini-sd card..get one! that’s what I do. You move all your pictures to that, or just choose the card to store the images in the first place. Get a card reader, you can find them for under $ 10, and connect it to your USB port to read the card (the mini SD cards come with a full sized SD ‘adapter’). Then just drag the pictures over when the card mounts on your desktop.

Question by JeffKan1: How to put an iOS emulator on a Windows computer?
My daughter lives 300 miles away and has an iTouch. She is 14 and is starting to do programming with “Basic! by miSoft” on it. I would like to simulate the iOS environment on my computer so I could install the miSoft Basic too. So I assume I need to download a free iOS emulator. Is that correct? Is one better than another? I did some searching today and got quickly overwhelmed at exactly what I should install. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by para
I am pretty sure that there is NO iOS emulator, and even if there was, knowing Apple’s way of business it would be free the very day hell would freeze.

There are some options, have a look here: http://maniacdev.com/2010/01/iphone-development-windows-options-available/
