Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) June 22, 2006

Audiofy Corporation, publishers of audiobooks on tiny digital memory cards, this month announced new compatibility with Apple iPod media players, through updated software that rapidly transfers the contents of Audiofy audiobook chips to these popular listening devices.

Owners of Audiofy audiobook chips and Apple iPod media players have been invited to publicly test this beta software, under the pilot program announced by Audiofy Corporation. The latest release of Audiofy’s new software feature – called “ChipZip!” — supports all Apple iPod media players with displays (excluding iPod shuffle models), connected to any computer running Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above.

Audiofy audiobook chips already play on a diverse array of computers, handheld PDAs and mobile smartphones that accept SD memory cards. This multiplatform support includes desktop and laptop computers running Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac OS X, Palm and Microsoft Pocket PC handheld PDAs, and Treo and Windows Mobile smartphones.

“Since Audiofy began selling audiobooks on memory cards over a year and a half ago, owners of Apple iPod media players have asked us almost daily about compatibility,” said Cartwright Reed, President of Audiofy. “Listeners love that Audiofy audiobook chips can hold 10, 20 or 30 hours of audio in about the space of a postage stamp,

without taking any time to download, or tying up an Internet connection potentially for hours. Since audiobook chips are something physical and tangible, they are easy to lend and share, give as gifts, and move in just seconds from computers to handheld players to smartphones. They’ve opened up new opportunities for retailers.”

“Opening up Audiofy’s platform to work with Apple iPod media players, a device so many audiobook enthusiasts already own, just makes sense,” Reed said. “We’re pleased to add another level of convenience to Audiofy’s products.”

Owners of Audiofy Audiobook Chips can download Audiofy’s ChipZip! application immediately from http://chipzip.audiofy.com/ and the updated software will remain available for free to all Audiofy audiobook chip owners.

All Audiofy products comply with the “Audiobook Compatible” standard established by the Audio Publishers Association and the Consumer Electronics Association.

Question by : Does Windows 7 starter have windows xx compatibility mode?
I’m planning to buy a netbook (usually has a win7 starter preinstalled within)

I want to play old games like RA2- Yuri’s R , SC2, B. Realms etc.. and I heard that win 7 starter has no “Windows Xp mode”.

I’ve done a trick on my win XP desktop PC before to enable the system to run those programs compatible of older window versions. – (right click exe file>properties>under compatibility tab> set to: win98/me compatible)

I just want to ask if I can do the “compatibility trick” on win7 STARTER again just like what I did on xp before?

if not, Are there alternative ways to play those old games under win7starter ?

What is the difference between “windows xp mode” and “windows xx compatibility mode” ?

Thanks in advance

Best answer:

Answer by LoverOfWine
XP mode is a virutal PC session within Windows 7 where the software is actually running in XP. Compatibility mode is where the OS “lies” to the application to make it think it is running in XP.

All versions have the compatibility mode. Only Professional and above have XP mode.

Radardroid Red Light and Speed Camera Alert App for Android Now Available with Premium US Data and Google Navigation Compatibility

Radardroid Premium US Traffic Camera Database for Android

Des Moines, IA (PRWEB) February 3, 2011

The industry leading traffic camera database from GPS POI US, LLC is immediately available to Radardroid customers as an add-on extension to the existing Radardroid Android application.

GPS POI US, LLC Manager Jeff Carpenter explains “We observed other red light and speed camera alert solutions for Android and felt there was a better way – one that doesn’t put the focus on the alert app at all. We think customers want to focus on Google Navigation or the navigation app of their choice. They want the alert app to disappear but still alert them when it counts. We didn’t want our solution to disrupt the user’s navigation experience with a bloated application. That is why we’ve partnered with Radardroid. They’ve nailed the user experience with their great approach.”

The Radardroid application is available in the Android Market in both free and Pro versions and has achieved over 300,000 worldwide downloads to date. Customers of either version of Radardroid can purchase the new Premium US data add-on for a one-time charge. The one-time charge includes all future monthly data updates. Customers can search the Android market for Radardroid and find both the application and the new premium data.

“We brought Radardroid to the worldwide marketplace with the ability to use a variety of 3rd party camera datasets. We quickly learned that, unlike in Europe, the options for free datasets in the United States were very limited and of poor quality. That is why we are excited to bring the GPS POI US dataset to our United States and Canadian customers” says Felix Ventero, Radardroid Manager.

Airclic Continues to Simplify Mobile Adoption with Increased Compatibility for the Android Platform

Trevose, PA (PRWEB) October 19, 2010

Airclic, a global provider of software that improves the performance of mobile supply chain and logistics operations, today announced it has upgraded its Mobile Performance Platform® to take advantage of the most recent Android development updates to further expand its product deployment on the Android operating system.

There has been recent widespread adoption on Android operating system– it is supported in more than 30 countries and is the only platform to gain market share for six consecutive months. According to Gartner, as of the second quarter of this year, Android smart phone shipments have grown nearly 886 percent year-on-year.

“This enhancement clearly illustrates the flexibility and scalability of our Mobile Performance Platform, as well as our dedication to making mobile software adoption easy and affordable,” said Rick Pontin, CEO of Airclic. “As reliance on the Android operating system increases, Airclic customers can be assured that our products will support the advancements and new capabilities of the platform.”

“Many of our customers and prospects want to take advantage of the functionality available within the Android operation system, especially the availability of new bar code scanning technologies,” Pontin continued. ”With this upgrade, businesses using the Android platform are now able to read a barcode by taking a picture of it, rather than scan a barcode for recognition. This eliminates the need for a sophisticated scanning device and resulting in tremendous cost savings.”

The reliable, flexible and scalable Mobile Performance Platform enables Airclic to rapidly introduce new products in response to evolving market demands. Customers are guaranteed 99.9 percent uptime and the ability to scale with the organization’s growing needs.
