Question by Krishna prasad: I am not able to access the internet, but my network is detected. Error ‘active network adapter not found’.
I am using windows XP sp2. I accidentally removed the ‘restore point’ and booted in safe-mode. Then booted in normally. Thereafter, my network (internet) connectivity is effected and I am no longer able to connect to the net. The ‘netwroking’ tab in the windows task manager throws this error: ‘Active network adapter not found’. Even after trying various options and searching numerous topics in this regard, I am still not able to access the internet. I use broadband internet connection. Also, I am not able to start this service “Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)”.

Any help/idea or any information in this is appreciated. You can send your answers/suggestions etc. to: Lrvkp1976@yahoo.com

Thx.
I just had to add this … a) I was able to access the internet before the current problem.
b) I am using a desktop PC and this does NOT have any wireless connection.

Thx.
c) Even after I ran my motherboard CD, the missing network adapter/driver etc. could not be enabled. Also, it showed that the one on pc are the latest.

It sounds like you could access the internet before.

You may just be missing Drivers for the Network card, or The Modem you are using, your modem should come with drivers for it along with a router if you use one, Check your Device manager to see if you can find drivers the the Networking Card.

Question by lpolancoh: Why does my computer tell me a firewall is active even if I don’t have one?
A few days ago I started to download a 3 3gB file using Bit Comet and it started great, at around 100 kB/s. Then, after about 10 minutes, it went down to 5 kB/s and stayed around there. I followed many guides which suggested opening ports and enabling UPnP on my router. I did all of this and it stayed really slow. Yesterday, a friend recommended using Vuze, which I did, but the download was still really slow. I tested opening and using different ports, but all the Vuze tests came as if the ports were closed, even though I had previously opened them with my router. After further research, I found a test (JFirewall Test) that told me which ports were open and which weren’t. It said a firewall was blocking all my ports, yet I don’t have any firewalls active. And when I try to change the Windows firewall settings, my computer tells me it can’t change the setting because the firewall isn’t activated. When I try to activate it, it tells me “Windows cannot activate the firewall/ICS”
“JFirewallTest has established that a firewall is blocking all inbound connections to this computer,” even after following your answers (I disabled my antivirus (both of them) and unchecked the Windows Firewall in the Services tab. In response to Gary’s answer, I cannot activate the Windows Firewall to ope the ports. The computer just doesn’t let me, it shows me an error message.

if u have an anti virus running – it may be blocking that application.
goto start – RUN and type msconfig
on the window which appears goto the startup tab and disable your antivirus – restart ur computer and now see if the applic ation is running well or not – u should revert back to the previous setting and reactivate ur antivirus – at least u will know the root casuse and then think wot to do next.

What do you think? Answer below!

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 20, 2011

Oecoway, an iOS mobile app development company, today announced that its ?Friendly for Facebook? iPad app now has more than 3 million active monthly users, who are spending on aggregate more than 1 billion minutes a month browsing Facebook. When the iPad 2 went on sale, new users downloaded copies of Friendly for Facebook, catapulting it to the top of iTunes? charts as the #1 iPad app downloaded. Dubbed the ?unofficial Facebook iPad app,? the popular app fills the gaping hole left by Facebook which has passed on offering an official application for the iPad. In celebration of their milestone, Oecoway also released their latest 3.5 version of Friendly for Facebook, which included support for the iPad 2?s dual cameras, a new photo editor and improved user notifications.

Friendly for Facebook is optimized for the iPad?s unique touch-based interface, so Facebook users have a better browsing experience than if they were to try to use Facebook?s web-based or mobile app versions. With Friendly for Facebook, users can immediately enjoy the enhanced presentation of the text, photos and display, without the need to pinch and zoom such as with Facebook?s mobile app, which has not been optimized for the iPad and provides rather limited displays and a marginal user experience.

iPad users will enjoy Friendly for Facebook?s newest enhancements that take advantage of some of the iPad 2?s new cameras and extend Facebook?s social networking experience.
