Question by Juda Ben Hur: Downloading and then uploading?
My son has a “smart phone” with a 2 gig micro SD card with a lot of videos, pictures, etc on it. He has now bought a 16 gig SD card and wants to transfer all the data from his 2 gig card to the new 16 gig card (he is going to give the 2 gig card to his son).
I have Windows XP on this computer.
Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to do this?
Any help would really be appreciated!

If you have an SD card reader for your computer, the easiest way is to power down the phone, remove the card, copy everything from the card to a folder on the computer, copy everything to the new card, and put the new card into the phone. If you don’t have an SD card reader, you can copy everything off the phone using a usb cable (if the phone supports it), then replace the sd card and copy everything back.

If the smartphone and your grand childes* phone both have Bluetooth,(all smartphones should) then transfer the files through Bluetooth and make sure your grand child saves the files to the 16gig SD card. When completed simply switch cards and bingo.
You will need a cable between the phone and computer. I would create a new folder under my pictures, then plug the phone into the computer. Most likely the phone will automatically mount as a disk (visible under my computer). It may automatically pop up a window asking if you want to transfer the files. If so, say yes. If not, open a second my computer session, locate the photos on the phone, then drag and drop in your new folder in my pictures.
The phone probably has separate folders for music and photos.
