Question by : HELP!!!! start menu “windows 7″?
so i thought it was a good day. i finally attached a monitor splittler to the back of my main pc (for a dual monitor setup).
it all worked fine, except i could drag the screens across like i should.
I mucked around alot with the screen 1 & screen 2, wasnt really able to work out what number my main pc monitor was on (still dont know)
so searching on the internet ” obviously a hotkey.. it brought up “what setup did i want” (which i had seen before – i chose the dual screen
then BANG!!! LOST MY START MENU ALL MY DESKTOP except for main picture,
which seemed odd..

i was able to right click and say display icons, i saw 1 in the corner of the screen. so I Ctrl + A and dragged icons across, ITS AS THOUGH THE resolution kicked icons off screen (im thinking) even the start menu. now problem is I HAVE NO START MENU to pick up or i cant seem to open anything that was opened large before. eg: i managed to open VIRUS SCANNER because i never had that full screen. i cant open folders, programs ANYTHING… there is no option i can open on right click on screen that can help (ive tried them all ) :( please help. I do have a laptop. thats what im on now

Try unplugging one monitor and restarting. Right know, windows thinks you have another monitor attached and that it is displaying to that one instead of the ones you got.
Give this link a look when you start again or the above does not work.
