I’m on the lookout for a new laptop, so I’m wondering if I should wait a couple of months till Windows 7 will already be installed when I purchase the new laptop.
How long before I can get a new laptop that has Windows 7 pre-installed?
Will it be pre-installed?

Well, the RTM edition (Release To Management) has already been sent to retailers.
the RTM (release to manufacture) version is available, you can download it from microsoft.com, but the final version will come out in october
Experience taught us that there are always problems in the new windows. Even till now some users would still be comfortable with Window XP. Maybe you could reconsider?
windows 7 will be releasing on october 22 2009 in the markets.
Some applications that have been included with prior releases of Microsoft Windows, including Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker, and Windows Photo Gallery, will not be included in Windows 7. some will instead be offered separately as part of the free Windows Live Essentials suite.
